Fraport Tennessee completes record-breaking 35 openings at Nashville Airport in 2021

USA. Fraport Tennessee ended 2021 with what it describes as a ‘record-setting’ 35 new shop and restaurant openings at Nashville International Airport.

In the last month of the year alone, nine new restaurants were introduced, many of them local brands that have opened airport operations for the first time.

December openings at the airport included Chick-fil-A, Little Harpeth Brewing, Kijiji Coffee House, Southernaire Market, 8th & Roast Coffee Co., TailGate Brewery, Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant, Pig Star by Peg Leg Porker and Three Casks.

TailGate Brewery (pictured above) is an independent craft brewery specialising in small-batch specialty brews and pizza. The new taproom in Concourse C features 12 craft beers on draft, craft pizzas and pizza by the slice, breakfast sandwiches, and more.

Yazoo Brewing Company has brought a variety of award-winning Yazoo beers on draft to a newly-renovated space in the same concourse. Six-pack bottles are available to go.

Also in Concourse C, Nashville brand Southernaire Market (above) is a deli and eatery, featuring house-made items to go, exotic sauces, and gourmet products with a Southern influence.

In Concourse B, Little Harpeth Brewing (above) offers beers crafted in the tradition of German lagers, consistent with the beers of pre-prohibition Middle Tennesseans. The 1,564sq ft taproom also features wines on tap, cocktails and an extensive food menu.

Pig Star by Peg Leg Porker (below) serves Memphis-style BBQ from Pitmaster Carey Bringle, known for his award-winning Nashville restaurant, Peg Leg Porker. The new 2,186sq ft restaurant offers BBQ meats smoked fresh daily, sides, and signature sauces and rubs.

Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant (below) has opened in 3,676sq ft of space in Concourse D. Puckett’s roots date to the 1950s in a grocery store in the village of Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee. Puckett’s built its name on hosting live music and serving Southern comfort food classics.

Three Casks (below) has opened in Concourse C. It occupies 2,606sq ft of space, offering locally made whiskey, other spirits, and beer from the Tennessee Distillers Guild and Tennessee Craft Brewers Guild. The food menu includes burgers, sandwiches and in-house BBQ made with local ingredients.

Several venues specialising in coffee and snacks have recently opened at the airport from local brands Bongo JavaKijiji Coffee House and 8th & Roast Coffee Co.

Fraport Tennessee revealed that a dozen new shopping and dining locations will be added in 2022.

Fraport Tennessee Vice President Matt Jennings said: “Our success in 2021 would not have been possible without our partners at the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA). On behalf of our team and new operators, I want to thank MNAA for all they did to support us on this amazing journey. We are excited for what will come in 2022.”
