Frankfurt Airport records busiest month since pandemic began

GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport has recorded its strongest traffic month since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, serving just under 4.6 million passengers in May. While this a surge of +267.4% against the corresponding month of last year, the number is down by -26.4% compared to May 2019.

Airport operator Fraport credited the rise in demand for holiday flights for driving this upward trend at Germany’s busiest travel hub.
