Airline amenity kit specialist FORMIA has announced further extensions to its commercial relationship with Turkish Airlines.
In 2011, the two companies signed a long-term contract for the supply of a range of FORMIA’s inflight amenity kits for passengers.
Now, as part of the airline’s drive to deliver a world-class travel experience for its passengers, FORMIA has been awarded a contract to supply specially developed bags for presentation to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims en route to Mecca.
In a pioneering move, each passenger will receive a bag during the flight containing an extensive range of items designed to heighten their enjoyment of the flight itself and also to serve them at their destination, FORMIA said.

The bags have been designed to be worn comfortably either over the shoulder or across the chest for added security.
All products are designed to comply with the highest standards expected of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and enable them to perform their sacred rituals comfortably.
The Hajj is a major annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Each year, Turkish Airlines flies around 100,000 people to the event, one of the biggest annual pilgrimages to Mecca.
The Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca is held at a different time of year to Hajj. Annually, the airline plays host to around 200,000 pilgrims visiting Mecca outside of the Hajj period.
Commenting on the deal, FORMIA Managing Director Roland Grohmann said: “It gives us particular pride to have developed these special kits for Turkish Airlines. The thoughtfulness of Turkish Airlines in catering for the comfort and convenience of its pilgrim passengers has been matched by the care with which we have designed these kits.
“We hope they will add to the convenience and enjoyment of everyone as they undertake their pilgrimage.”
Promotional bags and cases
In other news, Turkish Airlines has awarded the supply of a range of FORMIA’s promotional bags and cases for use in its widening international on-ground marketing activities.
The items to be supplied under the agreement include FORMIA’s iPad bag and the company’s popular tin box and pencil case. They will be supplied empty of goods allowing the airline itself to fill them with a range of high value, quality Turkish produce, such as Turkish Delight, for handing out at travel fairs and to corporate clients and VIP frequent flyers on special occasions.
“As one of the world’s leading airlines, Turkish Airlines is proud of its complimentary promotional items,” Grohmann said.
“This new order demonstrates their confidence in FORMIA’s design capabilities, products and supply infrastructure and we look forward to continuing to work with the airline to meet their requirements in the years ahead.”
