Former L’Oréal travel retail executive joins Fragrance Foundation UK board

Charles de Montalivet has more than 15 years of experience across all aspects of the beauty business including travel retail

UK. Highly-experienced beauty executive Charles de Montalivet has been made a board member of The Fragrance Foundation UK, headquartered in Henley-on-Thames, England. The not-for-profit is an affiliate of the New York-based organisation of the same name first founded in 1949 by Chanel, Coty, Elizabeth Arden, Guerlain and Helena Rubinstein.

De Montalivet joined Japan’s Shiseido Group last May as Managing Director for the UK and Ireland. Prior to that he spent more than 15 years with L’Oréal, most recently as General Manager at L’Oréal Professional where he led the two biggest business units: Kérastase and Shu Uemura across 15 countries in Europe.

For almost six year between 2003 and 2009 de Montalivet worked in the travel retail division of L’Oréal. Initially he was Area Manager – Northern Europe before being promoted to Division Manager – Travel Retail EMEA between March 2006 and January 2009. He managed the full portfolio of L’Oréal brands at airports and airlines in 76 countries.

The Fragrance Foundation UK supports – and provides a central source of educational information about – the £7.1 billion (US$9.3 billion) UK fragrance industry. It has more than 150 member companies including manufacturers, marketers, media, and retailers.
