Italian wine, confectionery and food specialist Food Accademia has rolled out a range of Italian spirits and foods at Lagardère Travel Retail’s Bottega dei Sapori store in Venice Marco Polo Airport.
These include Italian-made Maxi Milian Gin (ABV 43%/70cl). This triple-distilled, aromatic gin features 100% Italian-sourced, natural ingredients and is gluten-free and vegan. It comes in a 100% recyclable bottle and packaging made of natural fibres.
As reported, the brand was founded in 2020 by entrepreneurs Massimiliano Montanari and Marta Gover and is available in selected European and American domestic markets.
Made in Italy’s Veneto region, Castagner Grappa Prosecco Ice (ABV 37.5%/70cl) is recommended to be served ice-cold and can be consumed as an after-dinner drink. It is distilled from Glera grape pomace (leftover grape skins from wine-making). The skins are treated and stored using the Grappa system for fermentation.
Intrigo Rosso Vermouth (ABV 16%/500ml) is a new vermouth from Spiriti Occulti created by bar managers, Andrea Pellizzato and Marco Gasparello and art director Riccardo Pellizzato.
It has a strong territorial link with the Veneto region and reflects the culture of eighteenth-century Venice, also known as the Serenissima region.
Food Accademia is also launching two food products from popular artisanal confectioner Biscotto Farm.
Merì La Meringa del Doge is a range of meringues made using traditional methods. It is described as a simple and delicious product that delighted the court of the Venetian Doge.
It comes in 80g sachets featuring nine flavours including classic, lemon, strawberry, coffee, licorice, passionfruit, star anise, cinnamon and turmeric.
Rose Veneziane is a traditional biscuit with a shape resembling desert rocks of the same name. It is presented in 100g jars with three flavours including classic, pistachio and chocolate drop.
Lagardère Travel Retail’s Bottega dei Sapori store in Venice Airport has been promoting the global appeal of Italian fine food, wines and spirits since 2012. It offers premium Italian food and wine brands, featuring specialties of different regions and a selection of prestigious wines.
Treviso-based Food Accademia entered travel retail in 2017 and since then has rolled out unique and innovative Italian food & beverage brands.
