USA. Airmall has selected global airport app FLIO to help promote its commercial offers at Boston Logan.
FLIO aims to offer travellers access to information about retail, food & beverage and other services.
“The FLIO route to an app for Airmall Boston made perfect sense for us“, said Vice President Airmall Boston Michael Caro. “We know it’s entirely possible to use technology available on the market to build our own ecommerce and CRM framework but there are significant time and cost implications.
“With FLIO, we know we can communicate to an international audience from day one, as well as avoiding the time and expense of building an app from scratch and then maintaining it. More importantly for us though was the fact FLIO has an established group of international travellers already using the app as a one-stop shop, when it comes to gaining information about an airport as they travel.”
FLIO Co-Founder Andy Watson said: “The opportunity for airports and their commercial concession operators to exploit what we have already done in terms of creating a global platform is something we have been promoting. Airmall USA have been quick to spot the opportunity and the potential to reach an international audience prior to travel and once they arrive in their terminals. The FLIO platform and its technology are highly sophisticated and FLIO is continually extending its capabilities and can now serve as an airport‘s fully fledged app solution, targeting the international traveller.“
He added: “We have seen a change in perception from airports towards FLIO since we entered the market a year ago. Airports now increasingly recognise the value of a single consumer solution that not only reaches their own customer base but provides them access to international travellers from all over the world. Our list of partners has now grown to include leading names in airport commercial services such as Fraport, Heinemann, ARI, SSP, Autogrill, Heathrow Express, Swissport and Plaza Premium Lounges, and most recently Dixon’s Travel.“
