FLIO extends airport app network through Cologne Bonn partnership

GERMANY. Global app provider FLIO has added Cologne Bonn Airport to its partner network.

FLIO will provide an app to complement the airport’s own system and aims to help the airport reach passengers with general travel information and, at the same time, promote retail offers.

FLIO also allows Cologne Bonn Airport passengers to check the world‘s weather in real time as well as flight schedules, delays and other schedule changes. FLIO will also act as a booking channel for Cologne Bonn airport’s lounge and parking facilities, through full integration with the lounge access booking process and by redirecting FLIO users to the airport’s parking website.

Cologne Bonn Airport CEO Michael Garvens said: “FLIO is a great additional digital channel to connect to our travellers. Our visitors will be able to book and pay parking for a stress-free arrival at the airport. Next to this they can get access to our lounge through the FLIO payment solution.”

The FLIO app will complement the airport’s own digital system

FLIO CEO Stephan Uhrenbacher commented: “We are delighted that Cologne Bonn Airport has decided to join FLIO and so provide its passengers with the ability to travel in a smarter way and make the best of the commercial offers at their airports.

“Cologne Bonn Airport handles almost 12 million passengers and was named the world’s fifth best regional airport by voters in the 2017 Skytrax Awards and the 2nd best in Europe. They also have an excellent choice of F&B outlets and some impressive duty free and fashion and accessories shops. So it is an outstanding airport for FLIO to be associated with.

“It was clear from our very first conversation with Michael Garvens that he recognised how FLIO can help him maximise the commercial revenue that these passengers could bring to Cologne Bonn Airport,” Uhrenbacher concluded.

FLIO announced a partnership with Lithuanian Airports last month, following recent collaborations with  Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, Bremen Airport  and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
