Festive flavour: Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail presents Chinese New Year range

Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail has stepped up its Chinese New Year presence with a new gifting offer.

The 500g Chinese New Year Assorted Lindt Napolitains Carrier Box features the Chinese symbol for good luck while the 387g Lindor Matcha Limited Edition includes a gift and is aimed at Asian travellers.

Lindor Matcha was launched in October last year. Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail said the flavour caters for increasing consumer demand for variety and novelty.

Lindor Tubes are available in Chinese New Year colours of red (Lindor Milk) and gold (Lindor Milk, Dark, White and Hazelnut). Lindt Mini Pralines target younger shoppers with a 155g box in gold and pink and a colourful 3 x 44g multipack.

Lindt adds a Chinese good luck charm to its Napolitains Carrier Box.

All products in the Chinese New Year range are exclusive to travel retail, alcohol-free and are available worldwide. Their launch is supported by promotions, featuring peach blossoms, at key travel retail locations in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hainan Island, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as airports in Vietnam and Cambodia. The campaign runs to 5 February.

Lindt wishes its customers Happy Chinese New Year at Changi Airport Singapore.

“With Chinese travel constantly on the rise, the celebration of Chinese festivities is an important consideration for all travel retailers,” Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail said in a statement.

“Chinese New Year is undoubtedly the largest and most important occasion in this regard, providing new opportunities to meet consumer demand for gifting – the second biggest purchase driver in travel retail – and helping retailers to convert more browsers into shoppers.”

Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail underlined its mission to “make travellers’ journeys more magical” and the importance of offering compelling travel-exclusive gifts that fit festive occasions.

The Chinese New Year range is featured in promotions in key travel retail locations, including at Sydney Airport.

Lindt & Sprüngli Global Duty Free Division Head Peter Zehnder said: “Our dedicated Lindt Chinese New Year products will help reassure and support travel retailers during this increasingly important seasonal occasion.

“The range will provide a festive twist on iconic bestsellers that will surprise travellers with new regional flavours and offer broad choice with a number of sharing and gifting options.”
