Festival of food and fun returns to Pittsburgh International Airport

US. Visitors to Pittsburgh International Airport can enjoy a week-long festival of food and drink, live music and entertainment during Celebrate Pittsburgh. Running from 12-16 August, the annual showcase of the region’s signature offerings and attractions is held in the Airside Terminal.

Highlights include a visit from an African penguin from the National Aviary, Carnegie Science Center creating nitrogen smoothies, Carnegie Museum’s Dinosaur Festival, and a vocal performance from Pittsburgh Penguins’ national anthem singer Jeff Jimerson with the band Airborne.

On the food front, McDonald’s celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Big Mac – which was invented in Pittsburgh – with free samples of the supersized sandwich. There are also complimentary Smiley Cookies and Clark Bars to be enjoyed during the week.

Pittsburgh Exchange will also treat guests to a taste of Pittsburgh with samples from B’Poppin Popcorn, Pittsburgh Salt Company, Applecious, Pittsburgh Pickle Company and DeLallo’s.

Fraport USA is the developer and manager of the retail, food and beverage operations at PIT.
