Excess spells success: The specialist retailer has operated at Gatwick Airport since 1994

UK. Offering a diverse branded selection of travel goods and luggage, Excess Baggage Company has opened a new outlet on the mezzanine level of London Gatwick Airport North Terminal.

It offers services such as left baggage, baggage storage and bag wrapping as well as domestic and international baggage delivery, parcel courier services and coin-operated weigh scales.

Operating under the company’s Airport Concierge brand, the outlet will also provide onward travel options, hotel reservations, SIM cards and tickets to events and visitor attractions.

Excess Baggage Airports Retail Director Maire Elliott said that growing passenger numbers and the refurbishment of Gatwick North concourses had made it important to “deliver a world-class presentation”.

Elliott said: “Together with the new unit that opened on the Gatwick South Departures concourse last December, and complemented by various pop-ups strategically located in areas including baggage reclaim and arrivals, we now provide a number of locations to satisfy a wide range of passenger needs.”

Excess Baggage Company has had a presence at Gatwick Airport since 1994 and operates a total of 50 outlets at airports across Europe, as well as at many UK railway stations.
