Edrington Global Travel Retail has unveiled The Macallan Boutique Collection, which is only available through Ever Rich Duty Free Shop at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. The new line appears soon after the opening of the first ever The Macallan Boutique in the channel, at the same location.
The Collection is drawn from a select number of maturing casks reserved for guests visiting Easter Elchies House – described as “the spiritual home of The Macallan”.
As we reported from last year’s opening event, The Macallan Boutique brings to life the brand’s heritage through a range of experiences. The Macallan Boutique Collection forms part of the largest range of The Macallan in duty free.
“The opening of The Macallan Boutique in Taiwan was a landmark event in the brand’s journey in travel retail, and we continue to invest in creating the ultimate The Macallan experience,” said Edrington Global Travel Retail Managing Director Igor Boyadjian. “The Macallan Boutique Collection is the first in a number of new and exclusive product innovations we will showcase at The Macallan Boutique and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering differentiation in the travel retail channel. It is already performing extremely well, having proven to be a popular gifting option for Chinese New Year as well as a highly collectible expression for Macallan connoisseurs.”
The 700ml bottle label features a sketch of Easter Elchies House and a capsule strip that allows a personal message for the recipient.
Tasting notes
Bottled at 57% vol. (100° proof) and chestnut in colour, The Macallan Boutique Collection is said to be “a full-flavored, rich and smooth single malt whisky, delivering a burst of spices and fruit with subtle notes of charred oak on the finish”.
