TAIWAN. Underlining its long-term commitment to promoting tourism in Taiwan, Ever Rich Duty Free sponsored this year’s Penghu cross-strait Regatta, which took place on 18-21 June.
The 12-mile race started in Penghu Bay, Taiwan, and finished in Xiamen Bay, China. A total of 15 boats participated from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan. Participants were faced with difficult conditions, involving high temperatures and unpredictable winds, which added to the excitement for spectators.

Ever Rich sponsors many other cultural and tourism events across Taiwan, aiming to show the beauty of the country, increase media exposure and attract more visitors.
As previously reported, Ever Rich confirmed it is planning a giant shopping mall and hotel complex project on Penghu, scheduled to open in 2018. The retailer said it is hopeful of positive visitor numbers thanks to the new landing visa policy which allows Chinese tourists to visit Taiwan’s offshore islands, including Penghu.
