Ever Rich celebrates Taoyuan International’s Best Airport Staff award success

TAIWAN/INTERNATIONAL. Ever Rich Duty Free Shop has expressed its pride at contributing to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport taking the World’s Best Airport Staff title at Skytrax’s recent awards.

As a long-term airport partner (of almost 20 years), Ever Rich said it shared the credit and felt grateful for the recognition at the 2017 Skytrax World Airport Awards.

“Ever Rich devotes itself to providing all passengers with an exquisite shopping experience, not only with a vast array of duty free goods but also with genuine and warm service,” the company said. “[We] were the first to introduce free product sampling in the terminals, including local teas and tasty snacks, as a way to showcase ‘Taiwan-style’ hospitality.”

Ever Rich said it had introduced a “360-degree” customer service counter that caters to all travellers. Services include complimentary stroller rentals, photocopying/printing services and gift wrapping.

“Taoyuan International Airport reached 42.3 million visitors in 2016,” said Ever Rich President Kevin Chiang. “This large increase in traffic has moved the airport up to the 40 million passenger category.  We will have to compete with many first-rate airports which will surely be challenging. Therefore, we will keep refining our services to deliver professional, high quality assistance to meet our customers’ needs.”

It is the second time Taoyuan Airport has received the World’s Best Airport Staff award, first taking the title in 2015. Taoyuan International Airport Co Chairman Dar-Jen Tseng praised the “outstanding customer service” of more than 30,000 staff from the immigration department, duty free stores as well as the airline companies.

“Incheon and Narita airports are very competitive and respectful opponents,” he said. “It has been a great achievement for us to exceed them in customer service this year.”

UK-based consultancy firm Skytrax named Singapore Changi Airport as the World’s Best Airport by air travellers for the fifth consecutive year at the recent event at Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam.

Hong Kong International Airport was singled out for the best dining offer and London Heathrow received the accolade for best shopping. Full results can be found here.
