EUROPE. The European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) has promoted Julie Lassaigne to Deputy Secretary General. She was previously Head of Government and Industry Affairs.
Lassaigne joined ETRC in 2012, and has worked with Secretary General Keith Spinks to manage the key challenges affecting the duty free and travel retail sector, the organisation said. These include EU legislation on food information to consumers, alcohol policy, air passenger rights and aviation security.
She has also represented the travel retail sector on several European Union (EU) committees, while managing relations with ETRC members and organising its annual Business Forum.
Lassaigne gained experience in the aviation, food and sport sectors prior to joining ETRC.
“This is a well-deserved recognition of Julie’s contribution to ETRC and comes at a crucial time as ETRC seeks to strengthen its capabilities to enable it to meet an ever-growing number of challenges and opportunities, including the impact on the industry of Brexit,” commented ETRC President Sarah Branquinho.
