Estée Lauder taps industry disruptors for key retail and brand roles

The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed two industry disruptors in key roles that span both brand and retail.

Olivier Bottrie: Andrea Dorigo will lead the retail transformation of The Estée Lauder Companies towards ‘New Retail’ globally

Andrea Dorigo has joined the company in a newly created role as Senior Vice President General Manager Global Retail. He reports to Global President Travel Retail and Retail Development Olivier Bottrie.

Dorigo is tasked with leading the vision and strategy to build the future of retail at the company.

Bottrie commented: “Andrea’s deep experience managing complex global teams, his ability to drive innovative thinking and disruptive growth models, and his proven effectiveness at brand building and brand expansion ideally position him to lead our retail transformation towards ‘New Retail’ at the global level.”

Dorigo has gained diverse global retail experience across multiple general management leadership roles in the luxury sector. He has worked in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Dorigo’s experience spans companies including Pirch, Oakley (Luxottica Group) and Brooks Brothers

He will be responsible for leading strategies to drive profitable growth. This includes strengthening consumer coverage, omnichannel opportunities and promote innovative thinking, from new formats to consumer experience.

He will also work closely with brands, regions, functions and affiliates to ensure retail operational efficiency.

Most recently, Dorigo served as CEO of Pirch, a retail disruptor in home appliances. Previously, he was Luxottica Group’s Oakley division President where he was responsible for multichannel development.

Before that, Dorigo was Brooks Brothers Group President North America. He also oversaw the global brand and marketing teams among other key functions during his time at the company.

April Anslinger joins Aveda North America team

April Anslinger has joined the organisation as Aveda – North America Senior Vice President/General Manager. Anslinger reports to Estée Lauder Companies North America President Chris Good, via a reporting line to Aveda Global General Manager Senior Vice President Barbara De Laere.

Anslinger will drive retail strategies for Aveda

She is responsible for optimising Aveda’s growth potential in North America. She will lead a team to develop and execute Aveda’s North America go-to-market strategy – overseeing North America Marketing, Retail, and Field Sales and Education

Her role includes driving strategy for Aveda’s retail channels, including its salons and spas, experience centres, online and omnichannel. She will also lead the brand’s digital marketing and social media strategies in North America, and further drive consumer engagement across all touchpoints.

Anslinger joins The Estée Lauder Companies from Schwan Food Company. As Chief Growth Officer since 2016, she oversaw the company’s vision, P&L, growth plans, brand transformations, digital capabilities, go-to-market sales strategy, organisational structure and culture.

Prior to this role she was Procter and Gamble (P&G) Herbal Essences Global Brand Leader. She spent 15 years at P&G in various positions primarily in its hair care division. Anslinger led Herbal Essences’ global business in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

She also gained extensive expertise in the North American hair care market, driving brand identities, innovation, revenue growth, go-to- market strategies and digital strategies for a number of P&G hair care brands.
