EssilorLuxottica names Alessio Crivelli as Global Travel Retail Director

Crivelli joined the company in 2014 and has been instrumental in building the Luxottica portfolio in both retail and wholesale channels

Leading eyewear company EssilorLuxottica has appointed Alessio Crivelli as Global Travel Retail Director. He succeeds Enrico Destro who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities outside the group. EssilorLuxottica is the company formed from the merger between Essilor and Luxottica Group. It specialises in premium, luxury and sports sunglasses and optical frames.

“I am very excited to lead EssilorLuxottica in this dynamic channel, during such a pivotal period where we are driving so many fresh innovations in eyewear – from new sub-categories to cutting-edge digital technologies to elevate the consumer experience,” commented Crivelli.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with our talented team and valued retail partners to seize every opportunity to restore renewed growth for the category.”

Crivelli originally joined the company in 2014 as Trade Marketing Director in Italy. Afterwards, he worked as Global Wholesale Trade Marketing Director and then Global In-Store Communications Director for Wholesale and Retail.

Throughout his career in EssilorLuxottica, Crivelli helped drive brand awareness in both wholesale and retail and push its digitalisation strategy. He was instrumental in developing the group’s digital screens network and its comprehensive in-store Ray-Ban Stories toolkit. Ray-Ban Stories is the first-generation of smart glasses launched in partnership with Meta.

Prior to joining the company, Crivelli worked as Brand Marketing Manager at Adidas and as Brand Manager for Heineken.
