Emirates Leisure Retail opens new F&B outlets as part of Perth Airport’s redevelopment

AUSTRALIA. Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) has opened two new F&B outlets at Perth Airport’s Terminal 1 forecourt. They are The Crafty Swan Kitchen and Bar, and Juice Bean Co. The openings are part of the airport’s A$1billion redevelopment project.

The Crafty Swan and Juice Bean Co. were created, according to ELR, “to help transform the pre-flight experience via premium food & beverage offerings.”

The Crafty Swan’s concept and menu were designed in partnership with prominent Perth-based chef Jason Walker, who has managed a number of Michelin-starred establishments across the world. The Crafty Swan menu incorporates seasonal ingredients paired with a selection of beverages.

ELR Australia Managing Director Adam Summerville said: “We are delighted to be a key partner with Perth Airport for their extensive redevelopment project, and through the opening of The Crafty Swan and Juice Bean Co. are proud to offer comfortable and convenient, yet unique and memorable experiences to travellers.

“Our exciting partnership with Jason Walker further raises the bar for airport experiences, and we are hopeful that this will pave the way for future collaborations between ELR and high-profile culinary partners. The importance placed on locally-sourced, seasonal food at both The Crafty Swan and Juice Bean Co. mark a significant turning point in what travellers can expect from airport dining, and we are proud to be leading the way in raising travellers’ expectations.”

Perth Airport Chief Executive Officer Kevin Brown said: “Providing a welcoming and lasting impression of Western Australia, combined with a superior customer experience, has been key to our significant forecourt upgrade.

“We’re thrilled to welcome our latest premium food & beverage outlets to the forecourt which showcase the best of Western Australia’s local produce and Perth’s great outdoor lifestyle.”

At The Crafty Swan, specialities include Jason Walker’s Signature Breakfast, with artisan sourdough bread, poached free-range eggs, field mushrooms, black truffle oil and rocket; the Pie Tasting Plate of Wagyu beef, lamb & rosemary and chicken & mushroom; and a Cleansing Salad of miso, pickled ginger, spicy slaw, cauliflower, mixed grains and nuts. The drinks menu includes locally made craft beers, Western Australian wines or fresh fruit smoothies and more.

The Juice Bean Co. kiosk offers novel elements such as liquid nitrogen popcorn, a theatrical cookie bar and a build-your-own frozen yoghurt counter. These are served alongside coffee and fresh fruit juices. Sweet and savoury snacks are on sale from Juice Bean Co.’s wall-to-wall fridges.
