Embracing innovation: Casualfood adopts Google Pay in outlets in Germany

GERMANY. Travel F&B specialist Casualfood has introduced Google Pay in its stores and restaurants throughout Germany.

Google Pay is a digital wallet platform and online payment system developed by Google to power in-app and tap-to-pay purchases on mobile devices. To use Google Pay customers need to download the app and add their credit card details. Contactless payment is made using an Android smartphone or a smartwatch.

Casualfood Managing Partners Stefan Weber and Michael Weigel commented: “Especially at airports, we have a large number of international customers. We think it’s important to always offer our guests the best, most innovative service. That is why we adopted Google Pay as soon as it was rolled out in Germany.”

Casualfood underlines the importance of offering the “best, most innovative service” in its outlets.

Google Pay currently works on the German market with credit cards issued by Wirecard, Comdirect, Commerzbank and N26.

Last month Casualfood launched its new Brezel Lovers concept at Frankfurt Airport and earlier this year the company was named the national winner at the Hamburg Food Service Award.
