Duty Free Global strikes partnership with fast-growing gin brand Four Pillars

Leading Australian craft spirit Four Pillars Gin has joined brand representative Duty Free Global’s growing portfolio as it seeks to build its position in global travel retail.

Launched in 2013, Four Pillars is now the biggest-selling craft spirit in Australia and is available in 20 markets worldwide. According to Duty Free Global, it is the number one Australian gin brand sold in Heinemann Tax & Duty Free at Sydney Airport, Dufry at Melbourne Airport, Lagardère Travel Retail at Adelaide and Gold Coast and JR/Duty Free at Brisbane and Perth airports. It has also seen “an outstanding rate of sale” at Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and other Asia Pacific airports this year, noted Duty Free Global.

Four Pillars: Its growing presence in travel retail is set to be bolstered by partnership with Duty Free Global

The Four Pillars brand features four core gins – Rare Dry, Bloody Shiraz, Navy Strength and Spiced Negroni. Distilled in the Yarra Valley near Melbourne, the gins have won multiple prizes at leading drinks competitions worldwide.

Four Pillars Co-Founder and Trade Director Stuart Gregor said that the global travel retail trade and the brand’s partnership with Global Duty Free – led by CEO Barry Geoghegan – offered a strong platform for further growth.

“Barry and his team have shown how well connected, respected and liked they are in the global travel retail world and we feel very lucky to join their outstanding portfolio,” Gregor said.

“We have seen enormous success in Australia in global travel retail and our sales in Melbourne and Sydney outstrip many better-known, lower cost and bigger spending brands, so we think we have a pretty good chance to do well in plenty of airports around the globe.”

Barry Geoghegan said: “We have been building our spirits portfolio with some of the best brands in the world over the past couple of years and this is another feather in our cap. The Four Pillars story is a great one, the gins are delicious, the people are brilliant and the strategy of the business is absolutely spot-on.”

He added: “I went down to the distillery as recently as July and I can honestly say what they have built in Healesville is one of the great distillery destinations in the world. We think this could be a lot of fun. We invite all our global duty free partners to come and taste these great gins at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes [Blue Village, H17].”
