USA. Duty Free Americas has announced it is set to hold its next annual charity golf and tennis event on 1 February 2018.
Next year, the DFA Americas Annual Charity Tournament will support the United Community Options of South Florida (formerly Cerebral Palsy). The tournament will take place at the Trump National Doral Miami in Florida.
The United Community Options of South Florida serves more than 1,600 infants, children and adults at over 60 locations in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach & Mid-Coast Counties. The charity helps children and adults with a range of needs and abilities including physical, intellectual, and neurological disabilities, as well as developmental delays and developmental disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, Prader-Willi syndrome, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and those who are technology dependent or medically fragile.
For the past three years, DFA and the Falic Family Foundation have raised money for a different cause each year, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Children’s Tumor Foundation, and the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital).
“We have raised approximately $250,000 during each of our past charity events, and we expect this year’s event to be equally, if not more, successful,” said DFA Chief Executive Officer Jerome Falic.
The inaugural DFA Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held in September 2014 and raised over US$180,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. DFA and the Falic Family Foundation contributed US$130,000, and the Hard Candy brand of beauty products and related items donated another US$50,000 to the 2014 cause.
