ASIA. The Moodie Davitt Report will host its fourth Charity Gala Dinner in May 2022 to celebrate our 20th anniversary and to raise funds for a vital cause (to be revealed soon). The previous three Galas (in 2007, 2012 and 2019) collectively raised just under US$1 million on behalf of various charities.
As in 2019, the event, themed Duty Calls, will be held on the eve of the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore. The final location and specific venue details will be confirmed soon, subject to the evolving COVID-19 situation in Asia.

A sell-out gathering of over 300 travel retail guests came together to raise around US$265,000 for Southeast Asian children’s charity Friends-International, which helps children who have come from precarious environments, including those abandoned due to sickness or disability.
In 2012, The Moodie Davitt Report hosted a 10th Anniversary Ball, raising around US$375,000 funds for two causes: travel retail charity Hand in Hand for Haiti and The Moodie Report Foundation dedicated to supporting cancer research.
And in 2007, The Moodie Davitt Report partnered with Hugo Boss in hosting a Charity Dinner on behalf of cleft charity Smile Train, which raised US$346,000.
The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “The timing feels right. We believe that 2022 will see an accelerated recovery within our industry, offering many welcome opportunities to meet face to face once again, such as the TFWA show in Singapore. What better way to celebrate our 20th birthday milestone in 2022 than by bringing the travel retail community together and by giving back to those in need?
“Our CSR Programme has been a cornerstone of our business since day one, a principle manifested once more in this year’s Virtual Travel Retail Expo where we are funding a life-changing cleft surgery through Smile Train for every paid stand and planting a tree for every registered visitor; and through our ongoing five-year £175,000 (US$240,000) commitment to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in the UK.
“Our industry has always been generous in its support of noble causes and I am confident that heritage of benevolence will be manifested again next May.”
