Dufry pledges “world class” confectionery offer with Sweet Garden concept at Changi

Andrea Belardini: “The design of our Sweet Garden concept will connect to the city, paying homage to its famous gardens and blending them into a fun and efficient execution with strong emphasis on activation zones”

SINGAPORE. Dufry has pledged to deliver a “world class” confectionery offer through the new Sweet Garden concept after winning a recent concession at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2.

As reported, Dufry and Focus Network Agencies shared the spoils in the Changi Airport Chocolate/Candy/Delicatessen tender covering the Departure/Transit Lounge stores in terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4. Dufry’s three-year concession covers four stores across 563sq m in T2 departures. The shops are expected to open in phases from March 2020.

The Sweet Garden brand, the retailer said, pays tribute to Singapore’s “lush and curated gardens”.

Dufry CEO Asia Pacific and Middle East Andrea Belardini said: “The design of our Sweet Garden concept will connect to the city, paying homage to its famous gardens and blending them into a fun and efficient execution with strong emphasis on activation zones that I am sure will delight travellers. We would like to thank Changi for their trust in us and we look forward to be working in close partnership with them to deliver a world-class confectionery experience to travellers at Terminal 2.”

He added: “The retail offer at Changi is one of excellence and we have placed a significant amount of effort and care in proposing an innovative and unique approach to the airport’s confectionery tender.”

The new concept includes digital elements and Dufry said it will offer customers the benefits of its worldwide loyalty programme RED by Dufry as well as of Changi’s iShopChangi’s reserve and collect platform.

The concession gain builds on a presence at Changi that goes back over 20 years and complements recent fashion and speciality store contracts for Max Mara, Chloé and Tumi.

Dufry said: “The new concession contract at Changi Airport underlines the positive momentum Dufry is having in its Asian division following the new contracts at Perth Airport and Hong Kong MTR train station.”
