Dufry gains seven-year contract extension at Las Vegas McCarran Airport

USA. Dufry has captured a seven-year extension of its duty free and duty paid contract at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport. The contract includes over 18,000sq ft of retail space, including a new 6,000sq ft duty free and duty paid combination store, Las Vegas Dufry Shopping, at Terminal 1 D-Gates.

The contract is held by a joint venture that includes Hudson Las Vegas and The Nuance Group (Las Vegas), LLC.

Las Vegas Dufry Shopping will offer an assortment across all main duty free categories, including fragrances & cosmetics, wines & spirits and confectionery, as well as duty paid categories such as accessories, travel essentials, electronics and fashion. Featured beauty brands include Chanel, Clinique, Dior, Estée Lauder, Lancôme and Urban Decay. The high-end liquor assortment will feature an extensive collection of American whiskies and bourbons and Scotch.

Hudson Group currently operates 32 stores at Las Vegas, including three duty free shops under the Nuance banner in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 totalling 11,800 sq. ft.

The Nuance outlet was a major highlight of the new T3 when it opened in 2012; the main 10,403sq ft duty free store was claimed to be the largest in the USA at the time

“McCarran International Airport served 47.4 million passengers last year, making 2016 the second-busiest year in the airport’s 68-year history,” said Clark County Department of Aviation Director Rosemary A. Vassiliadis. “We are optimistic that this trend will continue, and we are proud to have the support of Hudson Group to bring business and leisure travellers a world-class shopping experience.”

“Hudson Group has had the pleasure to serve McCarran International Airport travellers over many years, and we are very appreciative to have the opportunity to offer broader shopping options than ever before,” added Hudson Group President & CEO and Dufry Division CEO North America Joseph DiDomizio. “We look forward to maintaining and building on our strong relationship with the Las Vegas management team through our shared exceptional commitment to travellers and customer service.”
