IRELAND. Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is seeking concessionaires for a number of specialist stores at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports. The categories are electronics, china/glass/gifts, jewellery & watches plus pharmacy/health & medicine. Expressions of Interest are due by 30 October.

The company said: “DAA is one of the world’s top airport retailing companies, managing either directly or indirectly, sales in excess of €631 million at Dublin Terminal 1, Cork and Shannon airports and many other locations around the world.

DAA is seeking proposals from international and national brands, prestige and high-street retailers to operate in Dublin Terminal 1, Cork and Shannon Airports on a concession basis.

In July 2009 DAA rolled out its new shopping brand The Loop – The Future of Airport Shopping. All retail at the three airports will be presented under this new airport brand. The brand was unveiled at a marketing launch for Dublin’s new T2 in April.

In a note to potential concessionaires, DAA added: “The Loop will become known for its premier retail brands and customer experience, for its exciting retail events and innovative customer services and its price promise – never beaten by downtown prices. Your brand should bring further energy to the current offering and play a role in delivering a unique airport shopping experience.”
