Dubai International’s World Cup viewing lounge embraces football fever

UAE. Dubai Duty Free, Dubai Airports and Visa have partnered to screen all of the FIFA World Cup games at Dubai International.

A specially designed ‘Viewing Lounge’ (pictured below) has been set up in Terminal 3, Concourse B near boarding Gate 16. It can accommodate up to 100 people on a first-come, first-served basis and is open 24 hours a day for the duration of the tournament. Inside, two back-to–back giant screens have been set up in the middle of the seating area.

Dubai Duty Free is offering official FIFA World Cup merchandise throughout the airport. During the tournament, customers spending AED500 (US$136) or more using their Visa card will get a -10% voucher to spend on the merchandise.

Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin commented: “Dubai Duty Free is happy to offer passengers and our customers a unique opportunity to experience the exciting games of the FIFA World Cup as they depart through Dubai International. We have been working with Visa as well as with Dubai Airports and we are very happy with the outcome.”

Visa Head of Marketing for MENA Karim Beg said: “Visa is the exclusive payment service for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in all stadiums where payment cards are accepted. We are also documenting [Swedish footballer] Zlatan Ibrahimović’s return to the FIFA World Cup stage in ‘Visa’s Ultimate FIFA World Cup FOMO’ campaign, showcasing the ease of contactless payment technology throughout his adventure.
