Dubai International traffic grows ahead of annual trend in October

UAE. More than 7 million passengers travelled through Dubai International in October, bringing traffic in the Middle Eastern hub to 74.5 million for the year to date.

The monthly figure marked a +2.1% increase on last October, ahead of the year-to-date rise of +1.5%. Wait times for travellers fell -33% year-on-year thanks to “smart-gate technology” and the airport’s operations centre.

Dubai International remains the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic.

India remained the top destination country by passenger volume, with almost 1 million travellers going to and from the country through the UAE hub in October. The UK held second place with more than 500,000 passengers. London was the most popular destination city for travellers, ahead of Mumbai and Delhi.
