Dubai International passenger traffic shows marginal gain in first four months

UAE. Passenger traffic at Dubai International hit 7.6 million in April, a slight dip of -0.1% year-on-year, according to Dubai Airports. In the first four months, passenger traffic has risen by +0.8% to 30.3 million compared to the same period last year. Growth at the airport has been held back by capacity constraints so far this year, with flight movements down by -3% from January to April.

In April, Eastern Europe was the fastest growing market with passenger traffic up by +28%, followed by CIS (+17.7%) and Africa (+9.9%). India maintained its position as the top destination country by passenger numbers with a total of 1,027,267 passengers during the month. Saudi Arabia was second with 556,640 passengers, followed by the UK with 530,404 and Pakistan with 369,493.

London was the top destination city with 315,979 passengers, followed by Mumbai (202,981), and Jeddah (185,017).
