Dubai Duty Free names latest Millennium Millionaire prize winner

George Horan and Salah Tahlak conduct the 131st Millennium Millionaire draw

UAE. Dubai Duty Free has drawn the winner of its latest Millennium Millionaire promotion, with Pakistani national Hassan Murad claiming the top prize. He becomes the 131st winner of the US$1 million draw.

Hassan, a 40-year-old father of four who lives in Dubai, said: “Being a regular participant in the Millennium Millionaire promotion, buying a ticket to win US$1 million has become a habit for the last four years. I am delighted to have finally won and can call myself a lucky person. My win makes me feel more secure and I can plan my family’s future and invest in my children’s education.”

At the presentation ceremony held alongside the draw, the winner of the previous Millennium Millionaire, Sreeju Nambron, received a ceremonial cheque for US$1 million. He said: “It’s amazing to realize that I’m a dollar millionaire now and I still can’t believe that I won this promotion. Dubai Duty Free is indeed full of surprises and I will continue to participate in the hope of making it second time lucky.”

Two more winners were announced also in the Finest Surprise promotion, each one winning a luxury vehicle.

The first was Rahul Mulani, a Dubai-based student from Delhi Private School, who became the owner of an Audi A8 4.2 (Phantom Black) at the age of 11. He purchased his winning ticket on the way to India where he spends his summer holidays. The father of the winner, Prakash Mulani, said the family is now looking forward to receiving the prize.

Another Indian national, Umesh Shetty, has won a Ducati Streetfighter 848. Shetty, a 51-year-old businessman from Dubai, is a regular participant in Dubai Duty Free’s promotions. “I’ve been trying my luck in the Millennium Millionaire as well and strongly believe that I can make it one day,” he said.

The winner of the previous Finest Surprise Draw was also present at the presentation ceremony. Samer Sarraf, a Dubai-based French national, won a Ducati Superbike 848 Evo.

The draw was conducted by Dubai Duty Free President George Horan, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications Salah Tahlak and Vice President Human Resources Nic Bruwer.
