Dubai Duty Free launches Coindrum voucher service at Dubai International

UAE. Dubai Duty Free has launched the Coindrum coin-to-voucher service at Dubai International.

Coindrum allows travellers at the airport to convert leftover coins into duty free vouchers. Passengers using the service will get an additional +10% credit on all deposited values, including Euro, Sterling, Dollars and local Dirhams.

Got coins? Coindrum and Dubai Duty Free are encouraging passengers to convert leftover coins into duty free credit.

With an estimated 88.2 milion passengers in 2017, Dubai International is rated as the world’s largest international airport. Dubai Duty Free sales totalled US$1.93 billion last year.

Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin said: “The Coindrum service is a welcome addition to Dubai and fits in with our belief in innovative solutions to meet the customer’s needs. It’s great to see another Irish success story in our industry.”

Dubai Duty Free Vice President – IT and Logistics Allan Chapman joined Coindrum CEO Lukas Decker at the launch ceremony at Dubai International. Decker commented: “The addition of Dubai to our network is a great achievement for us. It just confirms that even in the world’s greatest airports there is always room for something new. With our other installations and current pipeline around the world Coindrum is fast becoming a recognisable airport brand desired by passengers.”

Dubai is the seventh country and tenth airport to join the Ireland-based Coindrum network. Earlier this year Coindrum expanded its service to all terminals at Dublin Airport, following the addition of Milan-Malpensa Airport with Dufry.
