Dubai Duty Free introduces Apple Pay mobile payments solution

UAE. Dubai Duty Free has introduced the Apple Pay mobile payments solution to its stores. The company today enabled over 400 points of sale with the technology across Concourse A, Concourse B, Concourse C, Concourse D and Terminal 2. These offer departing and transiting passengers the ability to pay using iPhone and iPad.

Apple Pay has also been rolled out on Dubai Duty Free’s e-commerce site (online.dubaidutyfree.com).

Dubai Duty Free noted: “Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorised with a one-time unique dynamic security code.”

Apple Pay is now available at 400 points of sale across Dubai Duty Free’s stores

Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin said: “We are pleased to provide our customers with expanded check-out options and know Apple Pay will enhance their shopping experience with a quick, convenient and secure way to pay for their purchases. This latest mobile payment technology is an example of our focus on continuous innovation to deliver a world-class customer shopping experience across our shops and also online.”

In the stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later, and Apple Watch.
