UK. Distell International has appointed Rachel Hawes as Head of Marketing for Global Travel Retail, effective 1 August.

Hawes, who has been at Distell for six years in various marketing roles, joins from her position as International Marketing Manager for Amarula. She will be based at Distell’s London office and report to Distell Travel Retail Managing Director Luke Maga.

Maga commented: “Rachel has worked across Distell’s wine, spirits and cream liqueur portfolio for the past six years and has a strong track record of growing brand equity and consumer awareness.

As reported, travel retail has been identified as a key strategic business unit by Distell and an opportunity for the company’s brands to be showcased on the global stage. Distell said the appointment of Hawes underlines the company’s commitment to travel retail.

“Travel retail is a strategic channel for Distell International and Rachel’s experience will help us to adopt best practices from domestic markets to showcase our brands on a global stage,” Maga added.
