USA. DFS Group has named Karl Sutcliffe as General Manager for its business at San Francisco International Airport. He moves from a senior operations role with the company at Hong Kong International, effective from this month, DFS confirmed.
He takes over the role from June Guzman, who moves to a senior Human Resources position within DFS. She took on the GM role in August 2014, overseeing the retailer’s business across its 35,000sq ft of space. Before that she held positions within the group in the Mid-Pacific division and in Singapore.
Confirming the appointments, DFS said: “Both are key leadership positions for these very talented people.”
As reported, DFS recently secured an extension to its long tenure at San Francisco Airport, winning the 14-year duty free and luxury goods concession (with an automatic five-year extension in a new central retail plaza – should one be constructed). Sales at the location reached around US$107 million last year.
