DFS Group’s Sibylle Scherer named President of Maison Chandon

Sibylle Scherer: Dynamic marketing vision.

FRANCE/HONG KONG. LVMH Group today announced the appointment of Sibylle Scherer as President of Maison Chandon.

Ms Scherer is currently President Merchandising & Consumer Marketing at DFS Group (co-owned by LVMH and DFS company co-Founder Robert Miller)

She will will join Maison Chandon parent Moët Hennessy on 1 November 2018 and after her induction will take over the new role with effect from 1 December.

Maison Chandon owns vineyards and produces a range of high-quality sparkling wines in several countries including the USA, Australia and China.

Ms Scherer will report to Moët Hennessy CEO Philippe Schaus (with whom she worked closely during his spell as DFS Group Chairman & CEO. Schaus assumed his current role in October 2017.

At Maison Chandon, she is replacing Davide Marcovitc, who is retiring after 30 years at Moët Hennessy, effective 31 December. Marcovitc will continue to support LVMH Group’s activities in Brazil and the Latin America region.

The dynamic Ms Scherer  joined DFS Group in 2012 as President of Consumer Marketing and Branding after holding leadership positions in the luxury goods sector with Escada in North America and Europe, and Jet Set in Switzerland. She was also Co-Founder and Partner at the management consultancies IBS and Brandlab, specialising in developing and implementing brand strategies for fashion brands and retail companies.

In September 2015, she was named to the additional role of DFS President of Merchandising, leading teams responsible for sourcing and curating DFS’s luxury offering across all categories.

During her years at DFS, Ms Scherer has won many plaudits for having built and nurtured an integrated marketing department built on the premise of the company being the world’s leading luxury travel retailer. In particular, she focused on creative, customer relationship management and digital marketing strategies, and brought a vibrant approach to advertising, communication and in-store campaigns.

Ms Scherer launched the T Galleria by DFS rebranding of the retailer’s leading downtown stores in 2013, and refreshed its global luxury rewards programme, Loyal T. She also played a lead role in developing the acclaimed DFS Masters Series, a signature programme of events that includes Masters of Time, Masters of Wines and Spirits and Masters of Fragrances.
