DFS Group, Trip.com and IATA senior executives head speaker line-up for Cannes conference

FRANCE. Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has announced details of its speaker line-up for the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes on 24-28 October.

At the Monday opening conference, TFWA President Jaya Singh will make his maiden Cannes address, after which Trip.com Group CEO Jane Sun will share her views on the restart of travel in China and elsewhere. DFS Group Chairman & CEO Benjamin Vuchot [also a prominent speaker at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo on 11-15 October] will discuss “travel retail’s need to reinvent itself”, said TFWA, while IATA Vice-President for Europe Rafael Schvartzman will offer an airline view of the future. Jay Richards of brand advisors Imagen Insights will reflect on how to engage a new generation of travelling shoppers.

In other event news, from Monday to Wednesday TFWA will host a TFWA Lounge (venue to be confirmed soon) where delegates can meet and network after the Exhibition closes at 18:30.

As reported, TFWA has underlined the extent to which it and the City of Cannes are endeavouring to ensure a safe and healthy environment for guests.

Visitors to the Palais des Festivals will need either to be double-vaccinated or show a negative test result from on-site testing facilities. Access to a 24-hour medical concierge service will be also available to all participants. TFWA said that documentation for industry executives based outside France will be limited to proof of double vaccination and a signed declaration available online for download and completion. Further details can be found at this link.

TFWA President Jaya Singh said: “Excitement around TFWA World Exhibition & Conference continues to build, and we’re now working on the final finishing touches to enable our industry to meet physically after such a long time apart. As ever, our conference features an impressive line-up of highly-regarded industry figures and market experts, whose knowledge and expertise will prove vital as we plan for a brighter future ahead. There will also be many chances for delegates to re-engage and reconnect with colleagues during the show, whether this be in the exhibition halls, through our TFWA 365 platform, or relaxing over a drink at the TFWA Lounge. Networking and face-to-face interaction are at the heart of our industry, and I for one am looking forward to personally meeting you all in Cannes.”
