DFS and Diageo mark Game of Thrones climax with Changi whisky promotion

SINGAPORE. DFS Changi has joined forces with Diageo in a promotional campaign for a limited-edition single malt Scotch whiskies range that celebrates the final season of critically-acclaimed TV series, Game of Thrones.

The whiskies, released by Diageo in association with series producer HBO, can be purchased at DFS, Singapore Changi Airport and on iShopChangi.com.

DFS Changi and Diageo will collaboratively offer an exclusive 10% discount when travellers log onto iShopChangi.com and spend a minimum of S$150 (US$110) on the Game of Thrones Single Malts collection from 13 April to 16 April. Travellers can make purchases on iShopChangi.com 12 hours to 30 days before flight.

Some of Diageo’s most famous single malt whiskies have been recast in a Game of Thrones guise, available here at iShopChangi.com

As reported, the collection features eight Scotch whiskies, each paired with one of the series’ Houses of Westeros, giving fans what DFS described as “an authentic taste of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond”. As in Westeros, each of Diageo’s diverse range of distilleries in Scotland has its own unique characteristics, each producing a distinctive whisky representative of the local terroir.

These qualities inspired the collection, drawing an authentic storyline between each house and its corresponding single malt pairing. The malts range in price from S$73.50 (US$54) to S$138 (US$102) for 0.7l bottles, the collection includes whiskies from Dalwhinnie (House Stark), The Singleton of Glendullan (House Tully), Cardhu (House Targaryen), Lagavulin (House Lannister), Oban (The Night’s Watch), Talisker (House Greenjoy), Royal Lochnagar (House Baratheon) and Clynelish (House Tyrell) distilleries.

The promotion appears both in-store an on iShopChangi.com

The promotion also includes the limited-edition White Walker by Johnnie Walker (S$68/US$50 for a litre bottle). For those unfamiliar with the series, the White Walkers, known by their icy blue eyes, are the most enigmatic and feared characters in Game of Thrones.

From north to south, east to west(eros), Diageo has Scotland, and Game of Thrones, covered.
Each single malt is paired with one of the series’ Houses of Westeros,

White Walker is best served directly from the freezer, echoing the chilling presence of the White Walkers. The limited-edition blend is designed to evoke the frozen north with an icy white and blue design while the familiar Johnnie Walker Striding Man is clad in armour to fit in among the Night King’s forces.
