The store will cater to passengers from NCL, Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines. DFASS will also provide a duty free service for cargo ships via the same concession.

DFASS said that with the continued expansion of cruise traffic in the Yucatan Peninsula it expected to serve over one million passengers annually at the port.

The product offering will reflect the tourist passenger profile, DFASS noted, with tequilas featuring prominently alongside a range of duty free and travel retail core liquor products. A selection of tobacco, beauty and fashion accessories will also be incorporated.

The new store will feature local design elements, the retailer said.

DFASS/TRG President Jon Potash commented: “We are very pleased about the new Progreso concession, and our management team in Mexico is looking forward to this great new opportunity.  The continued expansion of DFASS’ ground retail operations in Mexico and the Americas remains the top strategic imperative for our group.”
