INTERNATIONAL. DFS Group has launched its first-ever global Whiskey Festival, bringing together over 300 whiskies, including rare, limited edition bottles exclusive to DFS.
Beginning at Singapore Changi Airport on 27 May, the Festival will travel to eight DFS locations across Asia, the Middle East and North America.
“As interest in whiskey continues to grow, we’re thrilled to provide travellers with a chance to celebrate all things whiskey with the launch of our first-ever global Whiskey Festival,” said DFS Group Senior Vice President Wines, Spirits, Tobacco, Food and Gifts Brooke Supernaw. “From collectors to those trying whiskey for the first time, the Whiskey Festival is designed for discovery, offering a way to explore this multifaceted spirit.”
The Whiskey Festival includes Masterclasses from leading brand ambassadors at DFS concept The Whiskey House, plus expert advice and complimentary tastings. The Festival introduces customers to the DFS Whiskey Flavor Profile tool, a simplified way to navigate the world of whiskey by dividing complex flavours into the following profiles:
- Floral and Delicate
- Fruity and Elegant
- Smokey and Intense
- Rich and Rounded
Over 300 whiskies and many DFS exclusives will be categorised based on the individual flavour profiles, with up to 100 whiskies available for tasting in store, depending on location. Highlights of the Whiskey Festival include Suntory Chita Single Grain, Johnnie Walker Blender’s Batch 2: Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish, Royal Salute Polo Collection 2017, Bowmore’s new range of whiskies exclusive to travellers (10yo, 15yo and 18yo), and Woodford Reserve Personal Selection.
