Delhi Duty Free wins ‘Outlet of the Year’ award at Indira Gandhi International Airport

INDIA. Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS) has won the ‘Outlet of the Year’ award at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The retailer, a joint venture between Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Yalvorin and GMR Airports, was successful in the category at the IGI Awards 2018.

From left to right, DDFS’s CFO Rajiv Madan COO Ashish Chopra and Head of Marketing Abhijit Das accept the award from DIAL CCO Shyam Sundar and GMR Group Chairman – Energy & International Airports Srinivas Bommidala.

The awards have been staged for the past seven years and are designed to “recognise commercially successful businesses” at Indira Gandhi International, according to organiser DIAL.

“[We want to] create a close-knit community of stakeholders working towards a shared vision of making IGI Airport the world’s best airport,” said DIAL.

Indira Gandhi handled over 63.4 million passengers in 2017, making it the busiest airport in India – a title it has held since 2009. The figure placed it 16th in the world and seventh in Asia by passenger traffic.
