Delhi Duty Free names Ashish Chopra as Chief Executive

INDIA. Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS) has named Ashish Chopra as Chief Executive Officer. Currently Deputy CEO, Chopra will take up his new role upon the departure of Philip Eckles as CEO on 5 December.

DDFS Chairman GBS Raju said: “Over his seven years with the organisation Ashish has played an integral role in the success of Delhi Duty Free and I know as he takes on these new responsibilities that he will skilfully lead DDFS as it recovers and rebuilds from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. I, along with the Directors of the Board wish Ashish every success in his new role”.

Chopra joined DDFS as Head of Purchasing in 2013. He was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer in April 2017 and was further promoted to the position of Deputy CEO in September 2019. He has contributed heavily to delivering the DDFS growth plan in this time, said the company.

Before his role at DDFS he spent several years in international buying, merchandising and retail roles while working with some of India’s largest retail companies.
