Delhi Duty Free captures Frontier Award for Airport Retailer of the Year

INTERNATIONAL. Delhi Duty Free was among the big winners at the annual Frontier Awards, as it captured the key Airport Retailer of the Year accolade. The awards are usually held during TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, but were hosted this time in an online ceremony today.

The company – a joint venture between Delhi International Airport Ltd and Aer Rianta International – also won CSR Or Sustainability Initiative while CEO Philip Eckles won the Outstanding Contribution accolade as his retirement approaches at year end. Other big awards went to Heathrow as Airport of the Year; 3Sixty Duty Free as Inflight Retailer of the Year; Lotte Duty Free as Border, Downtown or Non-Airport Retailer of the Year and MSC Cruises as Cruise or Ferry Line Retailer of the Year. ARI Ireland won Speciality Concept Of The Year for the Confectionery concept in The Loop at Dublin Airport T2. Mondelez World Travel Retail was named Supplier of the Year.

Philip Eckles: Rewarded for over 30 years of industry service

I know from my own experience the delight and pride of winning a Frontier Award is part of a team effort, so now to be recognised and to also receive this individual award for outstanding contribution to the industry is not only a delight, but also humbling. I am so proud to accept the award.”
