Deadline time approaches to exhibit at Virtual Travel Retail Expo as numbers climb to new high

The deadline for exhibiting at the inaugural Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo in October is nearing, with stand reservations closing next Monday, 31 August.

“Our roll-call of partners represents an A to Z of industry excellence, from AOE to Zegna. It ranges from Bacardi to Beam Suntory; Camus to Clarins to KrisShop to Qatar Duty Free; Dior to Diageo; Foreo to Furla; Pernod Ricard to PMI to Puig; Shiseido to SK-II, and many more besides.”

Despite a deeply troubled trading climate, the pioneering event has attracted a stellar line-up of brand companies, retailers, airports, omnichannel specialists and service providers. With bookings still coming in this week – including one of the industry’s most blue-chip names as a Platinum Partner – final exhibitor numbers are set to climb above 110, well beyond the original target.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “In this, the toughest year in travel retail history, it’s encouraging to see the fantastic work and creativity that our exhibitor partners are bringing to their Virtual Stands. Such commitment and innovation is testament to the fact that our industry does see better days ahead and is prepared to invest accordingly. Our roll-call of partners represents an A to Z of industry excellence, from AOE to Zegna. It ranges from Bacardi to Beam Suntory; Camus to Clarins to KrisShop to Qatar Duty Free; Dior to Diageo; Foreo to Furla; Pernod Ricard to PMI to Puig; SEVA Group to Shiseido to SK-II; and many more besides.”

“It’s precisely five months since we announced this ground-breaking event and in that time we and our technical and virtual stand creation partner FILTR have been on an extraordinary journey. We have taked the unproven concept of a digital travel retail exposition and curated it into a very well-received, high-class, easily navigable experience, a template that we will now be rolling out for other occasions and into alternative business sectors.

“Besides the exhibition component, the Expo will include the best conference and workshops line-up we have ever put together and some amazing experiences in the Engagement Hub, which will see our exhibitors interacting in brilliantly imaginative ways with their client base all around the world.”

The exhibitor figures, combined with heavy visitor numbers, will benefit three charities. As reported, for every paid exhibitor The Moodie Davitt Report is funding a life-changing children’s cleft operation through Smile Train. For every visitor, a tree will be planted in support of The Trinity Forest Project. And ImpactHK, an NGO that addresses the pressing problem of the homeless in Hong Kong, will benefit via the donation of a proportion of revenues from FILTR.

Sarish, shown on this short film singing a song she composed about Smile Train, received her first transformative cleft surgery as a three-month-old in 2011.Before they performed the surgery, Dr. Kimani Wanjeri’s team at Smile Train partner Metropolitan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya gave her mother, Winnie, the guidance she needed to ensure her baby would heal completely. The journey had its challenges, but Winnie and Sarish overcame them all with faith and love. Read her full story here.]
