Daring to be different: Godiva to unveil cube-shaped truffles in Cannes

Belgian chocolatier Godiva will reveal a new line of cube-shaped truffles at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition (Yellow F33).

According to Godiva, its Cube Truffles offer a “multi-layered taste experience”.

“The tradition of crafting exceptional Belgian truffles is in Godiva’s DNA,” said Godiva Chef Ilse Wilmots. “This expertise is the foundation of Cube Truffles, but we have expanded on that by playing with exciting new tastes, shapes and textures.”

The truffles feature four layers of flavours and textures. Each is filled with a dual-layered ganache or praline filling, encased in a crisp chocolate shell and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder, chocolate or nut shavings.

Dark and milk chocolate flavours are complemented by fruity cassis and earthy matcha. Other ingredients include Marcona almond, Piedmont hazelnut and Madagascan vanilla.

New tastes, shapes and textures: Godiva introduces its Cube Truffles

The truffles are presented in illustrated gift boxes. The Godiva Cube Truffles Chocolate Gift Box contains 12 pieces chosen from nine flavours.

Cube Noir combines 72% dark chocolate ganache with 72% dark chocolate mousse while Cube Amande Marcona pairs almond mousse with almond praline. Both are encased in dark chocolate shells, finished with dark chocolate flakes.

Cube Lait features milk chocolate ganache and mousse in a milk chocolate shell with milk chocolate flakes and Cube Cassis combines blackcurrant preserve and mousse in a milk chocolate shell, with a mix of powdered and crystallised sugar.

Matcha ganache and mousse blend in Cube Matcha which has a milk chocolate matcha-powder covered shell and Cube Framboise combines raspberry preserve with a raspberry-flavoured mousse and tops it with dark chocolate and raspberry flakes.

Cube Caramel Salé combines salted dark chocolate and caramel with a milk chocolate shell and splinters while Cube Vanille blends a dark chocolate vanilla ganache with white chocolate vanilla mousse in a dark shell which is finished in white and dark flakes.

Cube Noisette Piémont features Godiva’s signature hazelnut praline with hazelnut mousse in a milk chocolate shell, sprinkled with cocoa powder.
