Daniel Wellington opens its first Chinese airport boutique

Swedish watch brand Daniel Wellington has opened a boutique at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport Terminal 2.

It is the brand’s first boutique in a Chinese airport and its third in Asia Pacific travel retail. Daniel Wellington opened its first travel retail boutique in the region in partnership with China Duty Free Group in the CITS Haitang Bay Duty Free Shopping Complex in July last year. A second store, in Malaysia’s duty free-zoned Forest City, opened in October 2017.

The new store, in the duty paid area of the airport, highlights Daniel Wellington’s travel shopping-exclusive lines. As reported, the collection comprises three key products: the Cambridge Combo set, the Cambridge stand-alone 36mm set and the keyring set.

Daniel Wellington Head of Travel Retail Asia Pacific Helen Wong said the new boutique marks an “important milestone” in the brand’s expansion into travel retail. She said Daniel Wellington was committed to “enhancing the customer experience through exciting locations globally”.

“Through boutiques and pop-ups, customers can discover our timepieces and accessories, while enjoying unique DW moments,” Wong added.

Daniel Wellington described Shenzhen Bao’an, known as an International hub in South East China, as a “key location”.

“With high frequency business travellers and its modern terminal, it is an ideal location for us to reach the modern traveller,” the brand said.
