USA. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has issued a Request for Proposal for a series of new concessions, which include bars, coffee shops, travel essential outlets and automated retail vending.

A new bar and coffee concession (including a full sit-down menu) comes to market in a location close to Gate A8 in 3,932sq ft of space. It carries a ten-year term, with a Minimum Annual Guarantee of US$425,017. The menu must provide service for all thee day parts and include grab & go and self-checkout options.

The partner must sign-up with mobile ordering partner Grab (Servy) to participate in the DFW Market and to provide passengers with the ability to order on the go and/or delivery.

Concession sales airport-wide are forecasts to exceed 2019 levels this year, says DFW Airport

In an adjacent 898sq ft space (Gate A9), a travel essentials concept with coffee is made available under the RFP. This contract carries a seven-year term. Categories on offer should include reading materials, snacks and bottled beverages, health & beauty items, drip coffee and souvenirs.

Among other concessions, a 1,522sq ft gourmet branded coffee location sits close to Gate C37 and offers a seven-year contract term. Menu options must include offerings for all three-day parts while the concept should feature speciality bakery items such as pastries as well as whole fresh fruit. An employee menu and a self-checkout option are also demanded under the partnership agreement.

This location must feature experiential opportunities such as sports entertainment, interactive digital and/or gaming experiences, experiential wine/bar, and/or other similar interactive elements. Like other F&B concepts it should have an employee menu, a grab & go option, and must have vegan and vegetarian menu options.

In addition, an automated retail vending concession offers up to 16 units across the airport’s five terminals, with a five-year term.

Products include but are not limited to branded electronics, phones and accessories; travel necessities; health and beauty products; selected clothing; baby care essentials; pet care products and other items. This opportunity is not intended for food concepts.

Proposals are due by Monday 23 May for these opportunities.

In a presentation, Dallas Fort Worth Airport management said it expected to deliver US$456 million in concession sales in FY22 across F&B, retail and services, ahead of the 2019 figure of US$401 million. The recovery has been buoyed by the airport’s status as American Airlines’ major hub.
