An AK47 transformed into a rollerball pen: The Cross Peerless Fonderie 47 Collector’s Edition

The new pen marks the brand’s continuing collaboration with Fonderie 47, a company which funds gun destruction in Africa. Fonderie 47 transforms AK47 assault rifles into creatively designed objects and claims to have removed over 55,000 assault rifles from circulation in Africa.

The new Cross rollerball is made from gun steel ingots. Cross said it worked closely with Fonderie 47 to have the writing instrument reflect design elements of the AK47.

Each pen features black PVD plating with 23ct gold-plated appointments and has a disk of blackened steel from a melted-down AK47 gun embedded in its cap. The serial number of the gun that was destroyed to create the writing instrument is also included.

The Cross Peerless Fonderie 47 Collector’s Edition Rollerball Pen is priced at US$350.
