COTI Vision brings retro chic to travel retail

UK. International eyewear chain and accessories brand Coti Vision has entered the global travel retail market by launching its first free-standing display in three UK airports – Gatwick, Manchester and Stanstead – through Dufry-owned World Duty Free.

Coti, represented in travel retail by UK-based YV Brands, wants to revolutionise the eyewear chain and accessories sector by introducing an array of colours and styles to reading glasses and sunglasses. Each chain is complemented with a branded recyclable gift box.

Coti Vision Co-founders, Nancy Gries and Julie Hawkins said: “We couldn’t be prouder to be part of this exciting industry. The airport sunglass departments are already fabulous, and our glasses chains add another dimension of glamour. The price of our chains and the choice available makes them the perfect gift item or colourful holiday wardrobe accessory.

“The free-standing unit is the perfect way to display a range of Coti chains in a wide selection of designs, colours and price points. Taking up a small footprint, they can be sited in various locations for maximum traveller awareness and offer retailers an excellent way to build incremental sales.”

UK travel passengers may already be familiar with Coti Vision, as the Co-founders appeared on TV programme Dragon’s Den, where the chains were praised for their versatility of being used as a glasses/sunglasses chain, mask chain or fashionable necklace.

Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Deborah Meadon said at the time: “They brought an important bit of everyday kit out of the dullness and into the light.”
