Costa Coffee makes Georgian debut with BTA at Tbilisi Airport

GEORGIA. TAV Airports subsidiary BTA has opened the first Costa Coffee outlet in Georgia at Tbilisi Airport, with a second to follow. The 287sq m space is located landside and features the UK coffee shop chain’s latest store design.

The menu includes hot and iced coffees that use only rainforest alliance-certified beans, alongside hot chocolates, teas, iced frappes and lemonades. Food items include sandwiches, snacks, pastries and locally influenced additions such as Georgian flatbreads.

The new Costa Coffee outlet extends the BTA presence in Georgia, where it has run airport food & beverage outlets for 16 years

The new outlet extends the BTA footprint, which covers more than 200 units in 17 airports, where it serves around 75,000 guests a day. Costa Coffee has nearly 4,000 locations in more than 32 global markets.

Senior figures from BTA and TAV Airports mark the recent opening

BTA Chief Executive Officer Sadettin Cesur said: “We have been proudly serving in Georgia for 16 years. We have worked hard to enhance our operations at Batumi and Tbilisi airports. We have taken our services to the highest level with concepts such as Tickerdaze Gastro Pub and Greenport Pub.

“Now we are happy to bring a world-class brand like Costa Coffee to Georgia. With more than 50 years of coffee heritage behind it, Costa Coffee is a leading coffee chain bringing innovations with its store formats, digital integrations and product diversity to continually delight customers.

“It is very exciting for us to launch our first franchise operation with them. We will continue to bring great coffee to consumers with additional openings including a second Costa Coffee at Tbilisi Airport and in Bodrum in the near future. Our expansion will continue and we will reach more destinations with our professional, modern and friendly service approach.

“Lastly, we would like to thank the entire Georgia management, the entire Costa team, the TAV Georgia family, the BTA team and everyone who contributed to the organisation of this day.”
