Concessions International appoints Donata Russell Major as CEO

USA. Airport food & beverage operator Concessions International has appointed Donata Russell Major as its new CEO.

Major previously served as Vice Chairman and has held several other senior roles in an illustrious 28-year career with the company.

Major – daughter of Concessions International founder Herman J. Russell – takes up the role at a crucial time for the company, as it prepares to open concessions at several US airports including Dallas/Fort Worth, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta and Miami International.

The company said that Major will manage key client and partner relationships, special projects and business development, as well as strengthening the company’s leadership team. She will continue to work closely with President Anthony Joseph.

Major will lead the company through a record number of openings at US airports this year

Herman Russell said: “Donata was the natural fit for this very important role. Over the years she has worked to ensure the successful management of all company departments and functions. One of her overarching goals was, and continues to be, fostering a family-oriented work environment that encourages and inspires individuals, strengthens character and instills unparalleled performance excellence.

“Her stable, dedicated and enlightened leadership over the past 28 years has led to significant growth for the company, and we couldn’t be more delighted to have her on board as CEO as we begin a growth-centric year.”

Major commented: “I am thrilled to be taking on this new role at the company I love, especially at this exciting time in our history. We are anticipating a banner year, as we will be opening a record number of locations. We’re also working very hard to bring new and exciting concepts to the customers we serve in keeping with our goal of showcasing the local flavour of the cities where we do business.”

Concessions International recently opened a new Einstein Bros. Bagels unit in Terminal A at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and will be opening a Genghis Grill in Terminal E shortly. And a new Fresh to Order unit will be among eight concepts scheduled to open by mid-March at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s Concourse B.

The company is also about to open a new production kitchen at its Wells Street Corporate Support Office in Atlanta.

Concessions International has operations in eight airports across the USA and the US Virgin Islands. Its portfolio includes franchised, licensed and proprietary concepts and it is a franchisee of major national brands including Fresh To Order, Seattle’s Best Coffee, and Einstein Bros. Bagels.
