Come Fly with Us: Plaza Premium Group launches virtual talks series

The three-part series, launched in partnership with Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, features leading experts from across the travel retail ecosystem in conversation with top executives from Plaza Premium Group

Leading airport and hospitality provider Plaza Premium Group has partnered with Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia to launch a virtual talks programme called ‘Come Fly with Us’.

The three-part series is moderated by Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia Editor-in-Chief Jennine Lee St. John and invites leaders and experts across the travel ecosystem — alongside Plaza Premium Group experts — to share their insights on navigating the airport experience in the new travel landscape.

The premiere episode is called ‘The Best Airport Tips from an Insider’ and features Mohammad Nazli Bin Abdul Aziz, Executive Director at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, a wholly owned subsidiary of Subsidiary of Malaysia Airports Holdings.

In the episode, Abdul Azizi and Plaza Premium Group Founder and CEO Song Hoi See outline their respective business ambitions and how they have responded to rapid changes in the airport hospitality industry.

They also share tips on how travellers can successfully navigate the changed airport environment. The episode was aired on 12 January and is available on Plaza Premium Group’s YouTube Channel as well as Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia’s website.

Episode two is titled ‘The Best Air Travel Landscape’ and features Virgin Atlantic Head of Clubhouses Rami El-Dahshan in conversation with Plaza Premium Group Global Business Development Director Jonathan Song. The two executives discuss how the airport experience has changed due to the COVID-10 crisis and highlight new and innovative ways for businesses and travellers to best prepare for their next trip.

The pair also outline key updates at Plaza Premium and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses with a focus on the growing role of sustainability in their respective operations. In addition, the pair share their favourite airport moments and talk about their last trips. Episode two will air in late January.

Episode three is called ‘Where Do You Spend Most When You Travel’ and features Visa Asia Pacific Vice President of Cross-Border and Sales Excellence David Fowler in conversation with Plaza Premium Group Global Brand and Product Transformation Director Mei Mei Song.

The final episode in the series explores holiday spending and highlights what travellers are prioritising their time on at airports. It also outlines the best deals pre-during and post trip and gives key insights into the resumption of global travel. It is set to air in February.
