“Colour and appeal”: Desigual and Dufry expand partnership to second Brazilian airport

Spanish fashion brand Desigual, in partnership with Dufry, has opened two new locations at RIOgaleão Tom Jobim International Airport Terminal 2.

A permanent 23sq m shop-in-shop joins Dufry’s expanded fashion offer at Rio, which includes Lacoste, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. The Desigual space offers ready-to-wear and accessories collections as well as a selection of travel retail exclusive items.

A temporary 63sq m pop-up store, which sits alongside Dufry’s Sunglasses department, will be open until October.

The openings, which mark the second Brazilian airport location for the Desigual/Dufry partnership, join the stand-alone and multibrand shop-in-shop spaces at Sao Paolo Guarulhos Airport.

Desigual Head of Travel Retail Marco Gadola commented: “Rio Galeão is a strategic location in South American travel retail. It already has scale but is set for huge passenger growth as the Brazilian domestic and international aviation market expands over the coming years.

“Bringing a brand such as Desigual to this and other locations will help boost Dufry’s female-focused fashion offer and add vibrancy, colour and appeal to the retail experience in a way that Desigual knows best.”

Dufry Director of Brazil and Bolivia operations Gustavo Fagundes added: “We are pleased to welcome Desigual into our fashion portfolio at RIOgaleão as we always seek to expand the category at this location with the best and most dynamic brands.”
